Welcome to Buttercream Is Better!  This teensy little corner of the internet is a place where I share some of my favorite recipes, while giving credit to people much smarter and more creative than me who developed most of them.  Mainly this is because I want to sit at the cool kids' table with them someday in blogger-world and really don't want to tick them off... and also because I have huge girl crushes on most of them.  I am getting better at developing original recipes and will post them as often as I can.

I'm a mid-twenty-something with a day job who's always had a passion (borderline obsession?) for cooking and baking.  The way to my heart is most definitely through my sweet tooth.  I remember making lemon squares with my mom when I was too young to even see over the counter and it stuck!  I recently started working on my cake creating & decorating skills and look forward to testing new techniques.  Contrary to how it may seem from the name of this site, you will find all types of food here:  delicious cakes, cupcakes, candies and pies but also side dishes, appetizers, snacks and main dishes.  Promise, I do eat my vegetables (begrudgingly) and enjoy my treats in moderation.  Lastly, I am by no means a professional cook, baker or food photographer, but I do my best to get these recipes out there for others to enjoy!  

I love my husband, our families, my dog, anything bright and sparkly, good coffee, rainbow sprinkles, and the occasional frequent big spoonful of homemade buttercream frosting.  Because buttercream is the best.  Sorry, people, it just is.
